Getting around in an unfamiliar place can be daunting, but it’s something you won’t need to worry about when visiting Bermuda.
There are several options for tourists in Bermuda, but renting a car isn’t one of them. It’s actually illegal to do so.
The cheapest option is to take advantage of Bermuda’s pink bus system.
There are 11 different routes that will transport you across the island.
Costs
Passes and tokens are sold at bus terminals and post offices across the island.
You can pay by the trip, or by the day, depending on your plans.
It costs $19 for an unlimited day pass, $31.50 for a two day bus pass, or $44 for a three day unlimited pass.

The passes are also good for the ferry to and from Kings Warf to both Hamilton and St. George, and vice versa. There is currently no ferry service between Hamilton and St. George.
Do the Math
It may be far cheaper to ask for help figuring out your fare at the bus terminal if you know exactly where you want to go.
For example, we rode the bus from St. George to Swizzle Inn for lunch.
Then we took the bus from Swizzle Inn to Hamilton, where we spent part of the afternoon.
How to Apply to Travel to Bermuda
From Hamilton, we took a bus from the bus terminal to the final stop at Kings Warf.
We planned to buy two one-day passes for $19 each, but saved nearly 50% after learning it would cost a total of $23 for our trips.
While there aren’t any maps of stops in the bus, the drivers are incredibly helpful and will yell out a stop if you tell them where you are heading.
Travel Tips
When catching a bus, there are a few things to remember.
The final destination is always on the front of the bus.
How to Cruise During Hurricane Season
Bus “stops” are actually just metal poles. Pink poles are heading toward the country’s capital of Hamilton.
Poles painted blue are bus stops heading away from Hamilton.
Key Routes
If you are planning a cruise to Bermuda and dock in Kings Warf, bus routes 7 and 8 will be what you’ll likely use.
Negative COVID Test No Longer Required to Enter U.S.
Route 7 will take you to and from Horseshoe Bay, however it may be easier to just take a shuttle.
Shuttles are waiting for you as soon as you walk off the ship and through the cruise terminal. It costs $7 a person to the beach and $7 to get back to the port.
Bus route 7 will take you all the way to Hamilton. It’s also the most scenic drive in the country.
It will take about an hour to travel from King’s Warf to Hamilton by bus.
