Finding cheaper Southwest Airlines flights to anywhere just got easier

Finding the cheapest Southwest Airlines flight to your next destination just got easier.

A lot of travelers love Southwest because of the airline’s free checked bags policy and generous points bonuses when signing up for credit cards.

I’ve used Google Flights for years to find the cheapest flights to destinations around the world, but Southwest hasn’t been included until now.

Google Flights allows travelers to easily see price changes for a specific trip, or route, over a specific time. By changing dates and times, Google Flights will provide the cheapest days to fly to and from your destination. The search also provides price history for routes.

Southwest announced it will allow its rates to be included on Google Flights. The airline said it hopes the search engine will help increase visibility as airlines and prices become more competitive heading into the busy summer travel season.

The airline’s flight prices still do not appear on other third-party sites like Expedia, Priceline, or Travelocity.

The airline has made several key changes in the past months, including announcing a decision to cut service to at least four airports in the United States and Mexico. Southwest also slashed about 2,000 jobs from its workforce recently.

Southwest also unveiled a customer-focused program that provides vouchers for travelers who encounter flight delays of at least three hours. The delays must be the airline-controllable issue. The program is part of a $140 million settlement with the Department of Transportation. Each voucher will be worth at least $75.
