Instagramming Iceland

Iceland is a perfect place for photography buffs. It’s also going to be amazing if you’re Instagramming to make your friends and followers jealous.

Here are just five of the many Instagram-worthy stops in Reykjavik and the southern part of the country!

5. Reykjavik’s Harbor

This is where you’ll find the Harpa Concert Hall, countless stores and restaurants, and “The Sun Voyager” sculpture. From quaint buildings to the jaw-dropping concert hall, there are perfect pics to snap at every turn.

4. Hallgrimskirkja

You can’t miss this fascinating church as it jets toward the sky. You can see Hallgrimskirkja from all over Reykjavik. Take advantage of the church’s tower. Go up and take all kinds of cool aerial pics of the city.

3. Geysir

This area is full of amazing sites, if you can get past the sulphur smell! Make sure you get the perfect picture of Strokkur. If you miss it the first time, you won’t have to wait long for another chance. Strokkur spouts every several minutes!

2. Waterfalls

Browse Instagram or Pinterest and you’ll find countless pictures of waterfalls in Iceland. They are all breathtaking. We visited Gullfoss and I could’ve stood there all day and watched.  Make sure you snap a few pictures of your favorite to remember your adventure after returning home.

1. Blue Lagoon and Geothermal Pools

Iceland is known for its heated pools. The Blue Lagoon is the most famous, but it’s not just for the warm water. Look at this scenery! I LOVE it’s blue water next to the black lava rock.

This is just a short list of the amazing sights Iceland offers visitors.  I would’ve LOVED to add the Norther Lights to this list, but we missed them on our visit.  Don’t worry, we plan to try again when we return to Iceland to explore the northern part of the country!
